F Train

Background: I live in a part of Brooklyn not serviced by an express train. Riding the Local F Train can add about 20-30 minutes to my commute. In the grand scheme of things it isn't that long, but for every day commute it can get frustrating. There's a local movement by politicians and Brooklynites to get an express train to my area, south central Brooklyn.

Interviewee: My girlfriend/domestic partner, Kristin, is the bk resident. I'm a very lucky guy. She takes interests in my video editing, photoshop, web stuff, online life, and everything about me. We were coming home one night; we started talking about the F train, and we shot this quick video. I edited and she allowed me to post it on the dlb site.

Why'd I post it: To share with my dLB homies. I had fun putting this together, and I want to get comfortable with Final Cut Pro. Making something is the first step; the second of course is showing it. What better place to post than a welcoming familiar environment like dLB.

Cool Watches

First is the Final Fantasy Retrospective. Very cool watch so far, especially if you are a Final Fantasy fan. The series is only on its 5 episode out of 13.

Next up: The Metroid Retrospective. Super Metroid is one of the best games ever made, and is definitely the greatest side scroller ever. WTB Gamecube/Wii to play the prime games :)

Last but oh so far from least is the Zelda Retrospective. The Zelda games are incredible. The amount of my life that has been spent playing Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time is almost as much as WoW (and thats alot ;)).

It's funny what happens when you bring a large group of people together. Most everyone understands that opinions, beliefs, and interests can differ, but you'll often find a sub-group that thrives on this fact.

For some reason, when presented with any form of media that could possibly be scrutinized (especially at YouTube), they start calling out "FAKE!" I've been refering to these people as fake-callers, and as evidenced in the comic above, I think it's a fitting name.

By the way, the strip above is from xkcd. This is a great comic for people like me, who often forget to check their favorite webcomics for six or so months at a time. No matter where you hop in, you'll enjoy yourself.

I'm sure many of you have heard about this already, but I figured I'd post it anyways. Google (where mojo works:) recently posted this.

Help us imagine how an email message travels around the world. Take a look at the collaborative video we started, and then film what happens next. We'll rotate a selection of the clips we receive on this page, and add the best ones to the video. The final video will be featured on the Gmail homepage and seen by users worldwide.

All it takes is a video camera, the Gmail M-velope ( ), and some creativity.

Submit your clip by August 13th, 2007 to be considered for the final collaborative video.

Regs and EGGs thanks for the emails, I'm doing good. I live in Brooklyn NY with my girlfriend. I still work at Cornell, approaching 6 years of service. About as long as I've known a lot of the old school [EGG]s. Finally, (newsworthy) I'm finishing up an MBA in Finance at Baruch College. Life can get super busy, but I always remember the good dLB times. I'm happy to see all the dLB friendships are still thriving. Reformatting/reinstalling windows.

I couldnt get past a BSoD issue, so it's come to this. What do I do?
My floppy drive, I have recently discovered, is bum. It doesnt read discs. The little light is on, but nothing's going on inside, therefore, I need a bootCD rather than a traditional bootdisc.
What would be a good option? I'm running Microsoft XP Pro 32-bit.

Also, I would appreciate any information on reformatting/reinstalling/portioning you have. I only have a 20gb harddrive, but I want to split it into a 10gb drive for files, and an 8.6gb drive for windows, drivers, etc.

I miss the dLB days

When I think of [EGG]s, dLB, and phpbb I tend to get choked up and nostalgic. A few years have passed, but the memories of gaming remain. I wanted to revive the dlb website being that there is still an active community of friends communicating. The the forum is still going so I setup a quick blogspot site with a little redirection.
